<p>Reynaldo Ponce is a geneticist with extensive experience in molecular biology, gene cloning, and expression of recombinant proteins from infectious pathogens. He is also skilled in genomics, bioinformatics, and data analysis. Over the past 12 years, he has contributed to various vaccine discovery projects by successfully producing more than 20 recombinant antigens from different pathogens that pose public health risks, such as Taenia solium, Plasmodium vivax, and various avian viruses. Additionally, he has been involved in the development of molecular detection methods for infectious disease agents, including arboviruses like Dengue, Zika, Chikungunya, and Yellow fever, respiratory viruses such as Influenza, RVS, SARS-CoV2, and enteropathogenic bacteria like Salmonella, E. coli, Shigella, and Campylobacter. Currently, he is a Biology PhD student at Clark University in Massachusetts, USA. As a Research Assistant, he studies the mechanisms of host-pathogen interaction between cyanobacteria and cyanophages at genomic and phylogenetic levels. His scientific interests include functional genomics, genetic networks, genome editing, and synthetic biology.</p>
